Zimbabwe withdraw from World Twenty20 Championship after Nelson Mandela scorn

Nelson Mandela's recent criticism of the country left their cricket board alone as even their staunchest allies turned against them here. Their decision to withdraw from next year's World Twenty20 Championship in England has protected that tournament and saved cricket from a schism that could have been the end for an International Cricket Council struggling for credibility. Zimbabwe will now be subjected to investigation by an ICC task force and have their business practices controlled by a team of Indian administrators.
