Sea Scouts safe after river alert

A helicopter and lifeboats were called out on Friday night after a number of Sea Scouts got into difficulties on a Devon river. The Sea Scouts are believed to have been in kayaks being towed by a safety boat on the River Tamar when the boat developed problems. Later some Scouts were reported to have ended up in the water and had made their way ashore. All were later found safe and well according to coastguards. Sweeps of the area were made by an RAF Chivenor helicopter, lifeboat crews and a Ministry of Defence... [read full story]
