'cause my PS3 broke its lense TWICE already. From independent forums I learnt the likely cause: FIFA 08, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 and Assassin's Creed games actually have problems that make the lense break (overheat?) and there's no official word from Sony on the issue... only it's hinted by "fans" that updates solve these problems (at least with FIFA and Assassins). I'm pissed, 'cause I bought my PS3 last October and I've been now near 3 months without it operative... plus, mine is a 60 Gb model and buzz is that I'll be returned a 40 Gb one... in which case, my bucks may be going to Wii or XBox 360 from now on... if I can't trust a videogame I'm purchasing, my PS3 will be only a bluray player from...
