Less than a minute after rodeo director Aaron McGill announced the scales were open, Dennis Adams Jr. of Biloxi hit the scales with the first fish, a six-foot alligator gar. The first fish entered in the rodeo is normally from the freshwater category, such as a bream or catfish. But that wasn't the case this year, with the rodeo making its first stop in Biloxi, at Point Cadet. "One hundred ten pounds and eight ounces," weighmaster Bryce Gex said as a small crowd looked on.
