Son Steals Money from Mother Suffering from Alzheimer's Disease

KSDK -- A Florissant man could face life in prison for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from his elderly mother. A hotline tip prompted the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to conduct an investigation into the activities of 53-year-old Juani Jones. According to court documents, Jones' mother suffers from Alzheimer's Disease. An investigation revealed that Jones left his mother with more than $200,000 of debt. Jones' mother lives at a nursing home in Florissant. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services found that Jones did not pay for his mother's nursing home bills, "prompting her to be sent to a different nursing home that has to look to [her] social security expenses" there.
