SWAFFHAM'S Hamond's High School's head boy and girl were among a lucky group of students from seven Norfolk schools at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday celebrations in London on Friday. Jordan Smith and Chelsea Christensen were the only West Norfolk representatives among the Norfolk schools' contingent on the trip organised by Rainbow Nations, in partnership with Norfolk County Council. They were at the televised concert in Hyde Park, where the performers included Razorlight, Amy Winehouse, Sugababes, Leona Lewis, Jamelia, Simple Minds, Queen and the Soweto Gospel Choir. And they saw an impressive line-up of comperes paying tribute to the former South African president and human rights campaigner, including Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Robert De Niro, Lewis Hamilton, Annie Lennox and Peter Gabriel.
