EUGENE, Ore. — Two-time Olympian Walter Davis and Xavier Carter are among the other former LSU standouts also scheduled to compete tonight at the 2008 Olympic Track & Field Trials. Four other athletes with Louisiana ties are also scheduled to compete in the meet that begins at 7:30 p.m. Davis is ranked second in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 56 feet, 11 inches. Ex-Northwestern State University standout Kenta Bell (56-7 1/2) is rated third. Lawrence Williams (55-8) is a former University of Louisiana at Lafayette who has the fifth best entry mark. Carter has the fifth fastest time of 19.92 seconds in the men’s 200-meter dash. Ex-University of Louisiana at Monroe competitor Breaux Greer is the top entrant in the men’s javelin.
