ELRICK and JIM SCHAEFER • FREE PRESS STAFF WRITERS • July 3, 2008 The FBI is investigating a political consultant to Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick in the Synagro Technologies sludge disposal deal, the Free Press has learned. Sources said the FBI recently asked Michael Tardif -- a member of the Democratic National Committee -- to come in for an interview because of his close ties to James Rosendall of Grand Rapids, the Synagro vice president who has emerged as a central figure in a widening city government corruption probe. Tardif and his attorney David DuMouchel declined comment Thursday.
