Memphis, TN- A son saves his father from their burning home. Now the family is now piecing together memories from what little was left behind. The fire broke out just before 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 03, 2008. The fire destroyed the home in the 2600 block of Deadrick Avenue near Park in Orange Mound. John Griffin, his wife, daughter and son were sound asleep when the fire started. Griffin’s son ran upstairs and had to help get his parents out. "It was real hard to get him out because my dad can't walk real well so we had to drag him out," says son Joseph Brittmon. In all this chaos, some strangers stepped in to help. "Two young ladies said they had been out to the club and they stopped and helped me out the gate and I sat in their car. They were like angels and let you know there are still good people in this world," says...
