A man has been charged with rape and attempted murder after two sex attacks a decade apart in West Yorkshire. David Newton, 55, from Knottingley, has been charged with the rape, indecent assault and abduction of a 16-year-old girl in East Leeds in 1997. He was also charged with the kidnap and false imprisonment of an 11-year-old boy in the same incident at Halton.
