South Carolina reports 9 NCAA violations

The University of South Carolina said it committed nine NCAA secondary violations between January and June. The school said Thursday only one infraction was considered serious, involving an athletic department staffer betting dinner on a game not involving South Carolina. That violation goes to the NCAA for review; the other eight will be handled by the Southeastern Conference. The school also reported five positive tests for marijuana from the 207 drug tests performed in the past six months. The NCAA conducted six other tests on athletes. The school says those were...
