BEIRUT: The Union for Lebanon, headed by Massoud al-Ashkar, held a meeting on Thursday to mark the "War of 100 Days" in 1978, between an alliance consisting of the Lebanese Forces and the Phalange Party and the Syrian Army. The war ended up with the Syrian Army's defeat as it failed to enter the Christian regions of Achrafieh and Ain al-Rummaneh. Attendees of the meeting called for by the union paid tribute to the "resistance's heroes" while some former fighters recalled the battles with pictures from the war that were exhibited. The meeting's slogan was "remember but don't repeat." Your feedback is important to us! We invite all our readers to share with us their views and comments about this...
