Harrington worried about Ryder Cup place

By Tony Jimenez ASH (Reuters) - Padraig Harrington, without a tour win since the British Open at Carnoustie almost a year ago, is worried about making the Ryder Cup team. The Irishman is eighth on the Ryder Cup world points list and down in 16th place on the European points table. Although there are several big points-counting events still to go before the 12-man team is decided, Harrington said he did not want to have to rely on being one of captain Nick Faldo’s two wildcard choices. "I am very aware of it and I am concerned," the 36-year-old told reporters after posting a level-par 72 in the European Open first round at the London Club on Thursday.
