The film director had hoped to save his marriage for the sake of their son Rocco when he travelled out to New York for a meeting with the Queen of Pop this week. Ritchie told Madonna that he would even be willing to relocate the family to the Big Apple - a prospect he had always previously resisted despite his wife's wishes. However, Madonna reportedly instructed him to stay in London because she no longer wants to live with him.
