Independence Day Festivities Heat Up

by KYW's Hadas Kuznits ''Welcome America'' festivities are underway, with the biggest events happening in Philadelphia this weekend . Melanie Johnson with ''Welcome America'' says even though special events have been going on all week, she's most excited for what they have planned this weekend: "Friday, July 4th, we have a large number of events happening, that's the biggest day." Johnson says it starts with an Independence Day ceremony in which the Declaration of Independence is read: "Then there's the Super Scooper, All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Festival at Penns Landing. Then there's Happy Birthday America, it's at Independence Visitors Center, then Let Freedom Ring at the Liberty Bell Center where they have a symbolic ringing at the Liberty Bell."
