Medvedev: Kosovo precedent dangerous

MOSCOW -- Russia considers the Kosovo precedent as extremely dangerous and unsuccessful, says Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. He also voiced his surprise over the views of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who, bypassing the Security Council, had stated that UN forces should be replaced. "We consider the Kosovo precedent as extremely dangerous and unsuccessful. We don’t consider the decision made on this issue as a causus sui generis, but as an absolute precedent," Medvedev underlined, adding that the UN forces should have the main mandate in Kosovo.
