KUALA LUMPUR: A total of US$1mil (RM3.3mil) cash has been sent to the Myanmar Government for the rehabilitation and redevelopment of the country after it was hit by Cyclone Nargis. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abd Aziz said Malaysia had also contributed humanitarian aid, including blankets, food, clothes and medical supplies, worth RM500,000 to Myanmar on May 12. "On June 26, Malaysia also sent a medical team, comprising 25 members of the Health Ministry, Royal Malaysia Military, Mercy Malaysia, Red Cross Malaysia, Aman Malaysia and Global Peace Mission Malaysia, to Myanmar," he said when replying a question by Dr Tan Seng Giaw (Kepong).
