Thursday, July 03, 2008 By Sohail Khan ISLAMABAD: A constitutional petition was filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, challenging the abrupt increase in the prices of petroleum and gas and praying the court to strike down any law or announcement of the federal government in this connection. The petition, under Article 184(3) of the Constitution, was filed by Awami Himayat Tehreek (AHT) Chairman Maulvi Iqbal Haider and advocates Shahjan Durrani and Sheikh Rehmatullah. The petitioners have made the Federation of Pakistan, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as respondents.
