Fire crews still fighting White Oak Township fire

Evening update Kathryn Prater • dwallbank@lsj.com • July 2, 2008 • From LSJ.com Fire crews are continuing efforts to extinguish a fire at a two-story farm house in White Oak Township that started at about 3:30 p.m. this afternoon. Dansville Fire Chief Tim Whipple said the home at 3100 East Columbia Road is a total loss, and that officials were still trying to put out a fire in the area of the chimney and what is left of the attic. A pole barn and an old farm barn adjacent to the home were not damaged. No one was in the home at the time the fire started, Whipple said. No cause has been determined.
