Wednesday , July 02, 2008 Posted: 10:52 AM MEXICO CITY - U.S. hurricane watchers say that Tropical Storm Douglas has formed off Mexico's Pacific coast, but is not expected to threaten land. The National Hurricane Center in Miami says the storm had winds clocked at 40 mph (65 kph) early Wednesday. Douglas was located about 245 miles (395 kilometers) southwest of Manzanillo. Forecasters say the storm has been moving away from the coast toward the northwest at 8 mph (13 kph). It is expected to continue gaining strength before moving over cooler waters and weakening by Friday.
