Amar, Pranab break the ice; set stage for negotiations

That took its first formal shape on Monday when SP General Secretary Amar Singh, within six hours of his arrival from the US, went to the residence of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee at 11 pm. Although there was no official statement from either side after the meeting which ended shortly before midnight, sources said that the two have “broken the ice” and set the stage for “negotiations” ahead of the UNPA meeting on July 3 and Mulayam Singh Yadav’s arrival to the capital tomorrow.
