KOLKATA: Close on the heels of his meeting with Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee to float an anti-CPI(M) front in West Bengal, former PCC president Somen Mitra today met External Affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee here and apprised him of it. Mitra, who met the senior Congress leader at his south Kolkata residence during the day, told reporters that he had taken 'personal initiative' to meet Banerjee, his one time arch rival. He declined to divulge anything when asked whether Mukherjee approved his move. The TC chief despite her statement of going it alone in the elections has not snapped ties with the NDA.
