Rene Stutzman | Sentinel Staff Writer SANFORD - Ax murderer John Buzia returned to court in Seminole County on Monday, asking a judge to throw out his conviction and death sentence. Buzia, 48, is challenging one of the most powerful pieces of evidence against him: a palm print wrongly linked to him by a now-discredited fingerprint expert. Buzia was convicted of killing Charles Kersch, 71 of Oviedo, a man for whom he'd done home repairs, as the victim stepped out of his car March 14, 2000. The ax he used came from a cabinet in Kersch's garage. Then-Seminole County Sheriff's Office fingerprint expert Donna Birks told jurors the print belonged to Buzia.
