Turtle recovered in flooded Zamboanga City village

By DYBORRHAE JEWEL MENDOZA-REYES ABS-CBN Zamboanga ZAMBOANGA CITY- A 30-kilogram turtle was brought to ABS-CBN Zamboanga, after a resident spotted it caught in a nipa tree in Barangay Baliwasan Tabuk Saturday afternoon. Omar Sharif said he noticed the turtle amidst floodwaters in his home. Barangay Baliwasan Tabuk is one of the areas in the city battered by floods due to heavy rains induced by Typhoon "Frank" in the area.. Sharif’s house was just beside the river where he suspected the turtle to have come from. Godofredo Oliveros, chief of the Regulatory and Licensing Division of the Fisheries Division of the City Agriculturist's Office, was still wondering how the turtle got into a residential area, when it should have been recovered in coastlines.
