Labour - party finance and probity just don't mix

ftzaxSo, Jack Straw is going to bring forward new partisan rules on party fundraising at the same time as the Scottish Leader, Wendy Alexander, is facing a further probe by the Standards Committee into her leadership campaign (?) fundraising.Straw is obviously very keen to try to stop the Tory tactic of Lord Ashcroft funding individual candidates in target seats (gets round the party funding cap for Headquarters). Meanwhile, poltical funds of trade unions are going to be allowed to continue their 'sponsorship' of MPs (and MSPs/MEPs) outwith campaign funding regulated periods (just like Ashcroft does!).Just to goes to show each of the Unionist parties are as bad as each other.
