The Rev. Joseph Sturdevant, 69, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held from Rockfish AME Church, 167 Cornwallis Road, Teachey, on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 3 p.m. with Elder Evelyn Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Duplin Memorial Gardens in Teachey. His survivors include his wife, Martha S. Sturdevant of Fayetteville; four sons, Reynaldo Sturdevant of Fayetteville, Troy Sturdevant (Chevy) of Monroe, James Peterson of New York City and Steven Peterson of Fort Washington, Md.; four daughters, Joann Smith of Cleveland, Lillian P.
