Oki Electric Cable Develops Industry's First FPC for 3D Wiring

Oki Electric Cable Corporation has claimed that it has developed the industry’s first FPC that can form and hold a three-dimensional shape. Oki Electric Cable and NOF Corporation jointly developed this 3D FPC by using a graft polymer developed by NOF. The 3D FPC includes advanced electric features (a low induction rate of 2.5, and a dielectric tangent of 0.001), enabling users to create new microwave-class high frequency transmission circuits. FPCs have become more flexible and less resistant to shaping to enable wiring in limited spaces as electronic devices are becoming smaller and components more densely packed.
