Slick City overpower poor Pilgrims

Bristol City scored three goals in six second-half minutes to maintain their unbeaten home Championship record with a 3-1 win over Plymouth. Argyle had looked bright in the opening period but the Robins took control after the break and deservedly went in front through Danny Haynes in the 73rd minute. Jamie Mackie's fine finish brought Plymouth level two minutes later but Paul Sturrock's side were level for barely a minute as Jamie McCombe's header restored City's lead. Three minutes later Nicky Maynard grabbed his 50th career league goal in style with a powerful effort to seal the three points.
