Drought sparks call for rain prayers

Queenslanders are being asked to pray for rain this week as part of an initiative by the Uniting Church. The church's north Queensland chairman, Bruce Cornish, says the Cloncurry, Mount Isa and Barkly Tableland areas are in the grip of their worst drought in more than 40 years - with most cattle properties destocked and dams dry.
