Commodities stocks drag Europe lower

Mining and metals stocks led European shares downhill for a second consecutive session on Tuesday tracking sharp overnight losses on Wall Street. At midday, the FTSE Eurofirst 300 fell 0.7 per cent to 1,161.51, Germany’s Xetra Dax fell 0.1 per cent to 6,289.82, and France’s CAC 40 lost 0.6 per cent to 4,328.27.
