DAVID BECKHAM insisted England are heading in the right direction as they start the countdown to their World Cup qualifying campaign. England completed their fifth and final friendly since the Fabio Capello era began with a 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic at Wembley thanks to a last-gasp goal from Joe Cole. Beckham acknowledges England can play better and it is clear they will need to improve their level of performance three weeks tonight when they tackle Croatia in Zagreb.
