By Brendan Keenan Friday August 22 2008 THERE has been no increase in the value of Ireland's exports in the past three years, as falling prices wipe out gains in volume. Figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) yesterday showed the value of exports in the first five months of the year were 3pc down on the same period last year. However, adjusted for price falls, the volume of exports was over 2pc higher than in January-May last year. The value of monthly exports has been stuck at about €7.5bn since 2005, the figures show. Over the same period, the volume of exports increased by 13pc, the CSO calculates. The pattern is continuing, according to figures for manufacturing factory gate prices in July, also published yesterday.
