By Tim Walker So, a while back, some wag named Joseph Dark grasped the democratic opportunity afforded him by the Downing Street website's petitions section, and used it to start an electoral campaign on behalf of motoring expert and columnist Jeremy Clarkson. "Jezza is a legend and deserves to run the country," according to Dark. What japes! When the petition finally closed, it had 49,447 signatories, which, the way things are going right now, might be more people than are likely to vote for poor old Gordon at the next election. Being game souls, however, the people at Number 10 today posted a "humorous" response on YouTube. Shame it's not that funny... Did the boss write the script? Taxpayers money, fellas....
