Mother, daughter flood victims killed in crash

A 7-year-old girl and her mother on their way to buy clothes with flood vouchers from a federal agency were killed in a head-on crash Thursday night in Lincoln County. The girl's 10-year-old brother was critically injured. Two others in another vehicle were seriously hurt. Kailynn Hyde and her mother, Michelle L. House, 28, were killed in the collision about 7:30 p.m. Thursday on Highway 47 at Sycamore Lane. They are from Foley. House's son, Bradley Hyde, was in critical condition Friday night after undergoing surgery at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He suffered two broken legs and head injuries, relatives said. "He's fighting for his life right now," the children's father, James Hyde of Winfield, said of Bradley.
