Fox, NBC sue Redlasso over copyright

Redlasso, whose technology allows people to grab and embed clips from broadcasters' online video streams, maintains that it is offering networks a new source of revenue for their content, rather than infringing on the broadcasters' IP. Former CBS CEO Michael Jordan joined Redlasso in May as a senior advisor to serve as chief intermediary with CBS, NBC and Fox, after the networks sent the firm a cease-and-desist order. However, talks appear to have broken down, and in a Manhattan Federal Court lawsuit filed by Fox News, Fox TV and NBC Universal yesterday, the broadcasters said: "The networks have not licensed Redlasso to reproduce and/or make clips of any of the networks programming and/or content.
