Officials keeping an eye on the Gulf

The Port Arthur News Local emergency management officials are keeping the lines of communication open as Tropical Storm Dolly makes her grand entrance into the Gulf of Mexico. Greg Fountain, Jefferson County Emergency Management Coordinator, said he and other officials are in constant contact regarding the storm. Fountain is also keeping a close eye on the Weather Channel, local television stations and the Internet for the latest updates. While Dolly isn’t expected to move towards the Golden Triangle, Fountain advises residents to be prepared. “Even is this storm doesn’t affect us, people should already be prepared at this time of the season and keep your cars filled up with fuel,” he said.
