From correspondents in Maharashtra, India, 04:30 PM IST S.C. Jamir, who was holding additional charge as Maharashtra governor since the resignation of S.M. Krishna in March, will be sworn in as the new governor at Raj Bhavan here Saturday morning. Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Swatanter Kumar will administer the oath of office to Jamir, an official communique said Friday. Jamir, 77, became active in politics when he was president of the Students' Christian Movement while he was studying for his law degree at Allahabad University in 1954-57. In 1960, he was a member of the delegation that met the then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru for political talks.
