Blackpool are rumoured to be close to signing Liverpool winger Adam Hammill on a season long loan. According to George Burley who signed Hammill on a similar deal at Southampton last season: " He can play right or left and is a quick player who likes to take people on. He has bags of potential. " As well as his season at Southampton Hammill spent the latter part of 2006-7 on loan at Dunfermline Athletic, helping them reach the Scottish F. A. Cup Final where they lost to Celtic. He produced a number of impressive performances whilst in Scotland and scored a contender for Goal of the Season with a stunning 25 yard strike against Celtic.
