The Courier-Journal • July 8, 2008 Emergency crews were responding to a downed power line, a transformer on fire and other damage as thunderstorms moved through the Louisville area, a MetroSafe Communications supervisor said. A power line was down at Wolf Pen Branch Road between River Road and U.S. 42. A transformer caught fire near the intersection of Bon Air Avenue and Kings Highway just south of Bowman Field, according to MetroSafe. A tree also was ablaze after it was struck by lightning at 212 Kinnard Lane in the Douglass Hills area.
