Rudd heads for Japan tomorrow

PRIME Minister Kevin Rudd will fly out of Canberra for the Group of Eight meeting in Japan around midday tomorrow. Mr Rudd will have observer status at the G8 meeting which is expected to canvass issues such as the fragile world economy, global warming and problems ranging from Zimbabwe to North Korea and Iran's nuclear ambitions. The meeting will be held in the resort town of Toyako, on the northern island of Hokkaido. His spokeswoman said Mr Rudd would then travel to the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday for an official visit before returning to Australia on Friday morning. Share this...
