Surfing on Second Life

I never really got the hang of Second Life. I created an avatar about a year ago while researching an article about gambling on the popular online metaverse. My plan was to have my character rock up at a few casinos and play a few hands of Texas Hold 'em. At the time I was playing a lot of poker and fancied my chances of making a few Linden Dollars (the Second Life currency), then cashing them out as the real US green. Whether this contravened US gaming legislation was a moot point and became a subject of some fascination for my easily distracted mind. In other words, I never played any Hold 'em on Second Life but did write one or two pieces about the possibility.
