Giles buys Carrick Neill

GILES Insurance Brokers has bought Carrick Neill & Co, an Edinburgh-based rival, for an undisclosed sum. Giles, which already has 13 offices in Scotland, received a £500 million investment earlier this year from Charterhouse, a private equity firm. The UK-wide company, which was formed in 1967, said it is on the lookout for further acquisitions.
