Brendan Morrison cuts deal with Ducks: report

Former Vancouver Canucks centre Brendan Morrison has agreed to a one-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks, the Orange County Register reported on Monday. The deal is expected to be announced Tuesday, according to the Register. Morrison, who turns 33 in August, is a free agent coming off an injury-plagued season with the Canucks. The former NHL iron man missed 38 games due to surgery on his right wrist, and later required another operation to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The injuries, which snapped Morrison's streak of 542 games played, limited him to 39 games in 2007-08, during which he recorded 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists). Acquired by Vancouver in a March 2000 deal that sent Alexander Mogilny to New Jersey, Morrison had his best NHL season in 2002-03, notching career highs in both goals...
