Coyotes' coach Fuhr nets extension

The Phoenix Coyotes gave goaltending coach Grant Fuhr a contract extension Tuesday. Fuhr is heading into his fourth season as the club's director for its netminders. The native of Alberta, who was inducted into the Hall in his first year of eligibility in 2003 after 19 stellar seasons in the NHL, finished his career with a record of 403-295-114 with 25 shutouts. He began his career with Edmonton, where he won five Stanley Cups with the Oilers (1984-85, '87-'88, '90), four of which came alongside Wayne Gretzky, who is currently the Coyotes' head coach. Fuhr also spent time with Toronto, Buffalo, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Calgary before calling it a career following the 1999-2000 campaign.
