PhotographL Danny Lawson/PA Widely tipped as the frontrunner for the Scottish Labour leadership, Margaret Curran has put any ambitions she may have had of presiding over Holyrood on hold in an attempt to shore up Gordon Brown's position at Westminster. Labour's Scottish health and wellbeing spokeswoman and MSP for Glasgow Baillieston, has agreed to stand for the Westminster seat of Glasgow East in the byelection on July 24. Described as feisty and energetic, Curran was elected to Holyrood when the Scottish parliament was set up in 1999 and re-elected in 2003 and 2007. In 2004 she was named Scottish politician of the year by the Herald newspaper. Seen as a workaholic on the left of the Labour party, Curran is a passionate advocate of social inclusion....
