U.S. radar in CzechRep useful even without Polish missiles - Rice

Prague- The planned U.S. radar base on Czech soil will be useful even by itself, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said after she signed a treaty on the radar with her Czech counterpart Karel Schwarzenberg today. The United States plans to build the other European element of the anti-missile shield in Poland, but negotiations with Warsaw have not been completed as yet. Rice said the U.S. Navy can also protect the Czech Republic and the whole territory with the AEGIS system thanks to the radar base. She conceded that a long way is yet to be covered, when she was replying a journalist saying the anti-missile defence system is still in the stage of development.
