Fire safety campaign is off to a great start

THE JEP’s Make a Plan campaign has got off to a fantastic start – with firefighters receiving more inquiries about home safety visits in two days than they normally would in a week. We have teamed up with the Fire and Rescue Service to encourage Islanders to arrange a free home fire safety visit, where firefighters will create a fire escape plan as well as give advice, point out danger spots, and, if needed, fit free smoke alarms. And over the course of the weekend residents phoned firefighters on 445967 to arrange a home fire safety visit and request a free smoke alarm.
