COPS have launched a double murder hunt after two men were tortured, slashed several times, and set alight in a gangland killing. The victims, in their early 20s, were found in a burning flat in New Cross, south London. Firefighters put out the blaze - sparked after the two men were killed - shortly after arriving at the scene on Sunday night. A post mortem concluded today that the cause of death of both men, who were French, was stab wounds to the head, chest and neck. A police source said: “This is a really nasty double murder in which we believe the two victims were subjected to a serious amount of pain before they died.” Family members have been informed of the deaths and have flown to the UK to identify their bodies.
