The government will not cull badgers to control TB in cattle, the BBC has learned. Is this the right decision? The policy announcement, which was due to be made next Monday, goes against the recommendations of the former Chief Scientific Advisor, Sir David King. The National Farmers Union has accused ministers of ducking the problem and says that if left unchecked the disease will cost the Government £1bn in control measures.
