MP's decide own expenses

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7486612.stm MP's are going to vote on their expenses. They are getting to choose what they get paid by them self. In the media we have seen the Labour and Conservative parties being exposed for scamming the tax payer. MP's will get tighter rules about the allowances and money they can claim but these MP's who have done it in the past will continue doing it until they get properly punished. If a MP was made to resign their seat if they were guilty of scamming the system then a whole lot of MP's would stop claiming to much money and the amount of money that is payed out to MP's would decrease dramatically. The Lib Dems say make MP's show receipts for everything and again i think that is a good and great idea. Like everyone knows MP's would not resign their seats if they were found scamming...
